What Is The Bloomington Housing Authority ?

The Bloomington Housing Authority (BHA) administers several affordable housing programs:

  • a Public Housing Program

  • a Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program

  • a  Single Room Occupancy (SRO) Program

  • a HOME/TBRA Program (Tenant Based Rental Assistance)

  • a Home Ownership Program, and a Family Self Sufficiency Program in the Monroe County area.

The BHA owns three hundred and ten Public Housing units and twelve hundred and eighty-four Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers.

To administer public funds using available resources in a manner which will allow the Bloomington Housing Authority to offer a variety of affordable housing opportunities and supportive services that foster stability and self sufficiency through creative partnerships while servicing our customers with the highest level of professionalism and respect.
