Indiana Legal Services - Indiana Legal Services will provide service for residents the second Tuesday of every month from 2-4 p.m. at the Community Building (across from the BHA administrative offices) Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments will be taken as well.

Section 8 Wait List - The BHA recieved 444 applications on Sept. 8th and 9th, 2009. The HCVP/Section 8 Wait List is now CLOSED. Future openings will be announced here and in the Herald Times.
Hoosier Hills Food Bank free food distribution at Walnut Woods - Free food available to BHA clients in front of the Headstart Building in Walnut Woods at 3:30 p.m. every Thursday. Made possible through the efforts of HHFB, BHA's Family Self-Sufficiency Program and the residents of Walnut Woods. Special thanks to Carol, Terry and Camilla for their leadership with this new service. Come early as the food goes fast! Just a reminder this same service is provided at the BHA Community Building in Crestmont every Friday at 3:30.
Helping Homeless Veterans - We are proud to announce the BHA is working with the Department of Veteran Affairs to assist in the housing needs of Homeless Veterans in our area. HUD funding has been provided for 35 Homeless Veterans, beginning October 1, 2009.
Stimulus Funding - The BHA received $709,887 from the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA). We have contracted Neidigh Construction, Strauser Construction and Whaley Constuction to complete interior renovations of four efficiency units on Summitt Street, exterior renovations of the two, one-story buildings that haven't been reroofed on 12th & 13th streets, as well as interior and exterior renovations of the buildings on Illinois Court. The efficiency building has been completed. The rest of this work is in progress.
A HUGE THANK YOU GOES TO The City of Bloomington for awarding $11,873 for a Neighborhood Improvement Grant submitted by one of our residents. This funding has been used to install new lighting at the park and playground in the Reverend Butler Complex. The lighting, landscaping, benches and picnic tables have been installed.
CDBG Grant Updated 11.24.09 - The BHA will be receiving a Community Development Block Grant to complete Exterior Renovations of the 2-story, 2-bedroom buildings in Crestmont. The bid has been awarded to Project Associated Contractors.
